TU, Sweetwater Brewing raise $46K for coldwater conservation

The numbers are in, and they are good.

Sweetwater Brewing Company and Trout Unlimited teamed up this summer to raise $46,731 through Sweetwaters’s annual Save our Water Campaign.

They money will support TU’s Embrace-a-Stream program, which provides grants to TU chapters and councils.

Sweetwater likes to say that “You can’t make good beer without clean water,” and the Atlanta-based company backs up that slogan with action.

This year marked the 10th anniversary of Sweetwater’s Save Our Waters campaign. Initially aligned with the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper in Atlanta, the effort has been expanded to include other conservation organizations.

In addition to Trout Unlimited, partners in this year’s campaign were Ducks Unlimited, the Waterkeeper Alliance, the Surfrider Foundation and the Building Conservation Trust.

The total raised for Trout Unlimited included money raised by TU, a 100 percent matching donation from Sweetwater, and more than $2,000 raised from the sale of special TU/Sweetwater Save our Water logo merchandise.
